Micro irrigation practice diversifies our source of income
Said Mohamed Dahir lives in a small farm near Gesdhere village said “In our farm, growing cash crops was very difficult. It needs sufficient water. Papaya and sweet orange was the only crop used to grow because of its dearth of water. After provision of rubber sheets and drip irrigation, we grew new variety in my farm. Tomato grew in the farm. The installation of drips really motivated me and I used to keep it more than before. I used to pick up 3 boxes per day in three months. Per box of tomato it was 50,000 sh and in total sh 4000,000 per plot installed with the drips. In addition to, large quantity of the tomato in the farm was being used for cooking in my wedding events because I got married while it was growing. The received money I used for other expenses during wedding.

I am Happy To
“Iam one of the students reached the highest grade level of our school. The highest level is grade seven. When our predecessors finish it, they used to move to Gabiley town. Some of them who had no relatives in Gabiley walk to learn from there. More than 3 hours is walked to reach intermediate school in Gabiley. The new building of classes in our school made us happy. I and my older brother learn together with these classes. Our family planned to take us to our older brothers’ families live in Gabiley since there were no grade 8 levels in here. Now we learn with our old classmates. We received grade 8 teaching with our parents.
